RapidChartNote Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
Overview
RapidChartNote is a Chrome extension for temporary, chart-linked handoff messages in a clinic Oscar EMR workflow. It helps clinic users send short messages related to the currently open Oscar chart and display a visible alert for the intended recipient.
Information Collected
RapidChartNote stores and transmits the following information when a user sends a message:
- Oscar demographic number from the current chart URL, used only to match a message to that chart
- Optional room or location label entered by the user
- Sender display name
- Recipient display name
- User-entered message text
- Message creation and expiry timestamps
The extension also stores local settings in the browser, including the clinic's Supabase project URL, Supabase publishable key, shared clinic code, local display name, recipient list, selected recipient, expiry interval, and chart check interval.
Information Not Collected
RapidChartNote does not intentionally collect patient names, dates of birth, health card numbers, addresses, phone numbers, diagnoses, procedures, measurements, billing information, passwords, or browsing history.
How Information Is Used
The information is used only to create, display, match, and delete temporary clinic handoff messages. The Oscar demographic number is used to determine whether a pending message belongs to the chart currently open in the browser.
Data Sharing
RapidChartNote sends message data to the clinic-configured Supabase backend. Data is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with third parties by the extension developer. Access to the shared message board depends on the clinic's configured Supabase project and shared clinic code.
Retention
Messages are intended to be temporary. A message is deleted when a user clicks Clear. Messages also expire automatically after the configured expiry interval, which defaults to 12 hours.
Security
RapidChartNote uses HTTPS requests to communicate with Supabase. The extension uses a Supabase publishable key and a shared clinic code rather than individual user accounts. This is a lightweight clinic coordination tool and should not be treated as a private or permanent medical record system.
User Responsibilities
Users should keep messages brief and should avoid entering unnecessary protected health information or sensitive personal information into RapidChartNote messages.
Contact
For questions about this privacy policy or RapidChartNote, contact the clinic or extension administrator who provided the extension configuration.
